Deadly Intentions (Blood Feud Two)
About The Author:
David Temrick been writing for most of his life, though began putting together full-length novels in 2008. After collecting a fair amount of rejections from both agents and publishers, he decided to take the plunge and self-publish his novels. After selling 2,000 copies, he published the second one knowing that no one would want to publish a sequel. Despite having no flair for marketing, the first two novels sold surprisingly well while he worked on his third book. He still wanted to have a professional looking product though, so he hired artists to create the images he used as book covers and, most recently, hired a cartographer to create a Map of Rouen for this latest novel Daughter of Vengeance.
Self-publishing has been one of the more challenging and ultimately rewarding decisions he has ever made and freed him to tell the stories the way he wants to tell and fans want to read. The most challenging part of the process has been promotion, which he is horrible at. While David Temrick can tell a compelling story, he finds self-promotion to be a nearly impossible task.
His first two novels were distinctly fantasy. Meaning, there were dragons, princes, swords and sorcery. While he enjoys those kinds of books, they’re hardly unique in the genre. With “Daughter of Vengeance” he wrote a book predominantly from a female point of view about a young woman coming of age while apprenticed to a master assassin. While technically a steampunk fantasy, the genre is used to supplement the narrative rather than drive it.
With that in mind, if you know of any media or blogs who are looking for good content to review or an overly opinionated guest to interview, please send them his way.
Throughout history we have been here. We were born of the union between the Watchers and the Daughters of Men. Our human hearts pump the blood of Angels through our veins yet, we are neither human nor angel. We are the Alimentatori, descendants of the divine, and this is just the beginning…
In my two-hundred and sixty three years I have witnessed much, yet nothing could have prepared me for the devastating murder of my brother, Julian. While he lies in stasis awaiting The Release, his killer roams the Lazio region of Italy free to seek other victims. But, all is not right behind the veil of this ancient landscape. Its beauty hides a world of ancient secrets, hidden agendas, and political intrigues. In order to extract my vengeance, I must first play a dangerous game according to another’s rules. Playing by the rules has never been my forte; toppling a game-board or two would suit me just fine! Regardless of the dangers that lie ahead, Retribution will be mine.

About the Author:
A lover of superheroes and all things fantasy it was only natural to find a home within the Sci-Fi/Fantasy genre. Growing up, the major influences in S.J.’s life were Star Trek, Battlestar Galactica, the quintessential Star Wars, Robert Aspirin (his Mything series), Douglas Adams (Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy), and of course J.R.R. Tolkien.
As a wife, mother of three, and US Navy Veteran. I have spent a great deal of my life in service to others. In late 2008 I realized that the one thing in my life that had not been given its due, was the love of my youth – writing. With the kids grown and my military service in the past, I made a pact with my Muse. I would put writing at the forefront and he would guide me to my ultimate goal, publication.
For the first two years I tried. I dabbled in historical romance. I got a third of the way through a novel before it lost its luster. The struggle frustrated me. I stepped away from the desk and glared at the screen as if it were the problem and not me. And then I met a young woman who wrote in a genre I’d never considered. I picked up one of her Urban Fantasies and within a few pages knew it was something I would like to try my hand at. I immediately sat down and wrote a scene – for the first time ever – in first person. What was created had a life I’d never seen in my writing before. After a lifetime of practicing my art, I’d found a new way to move forward.
Unfortunately, the right angle at fantasy and a good story alluded me. Then one day, while sitting in a workshop where the speaker was talking about her vampire series, my mind wandered. Through a crack, somewhere in the creative, a scene unfolded. Two characters came to life and played out a scene on a rooftop. I wrote the first couple of lines on the napkin next to me. When I got home, I wrote the scene. To my amazement, it was pretty good. I loved the characters. I loved the banter. I loved how writing it made me feel. Finally after so much struggle, my Muse had done it. He’d finally broken down the barrier that had kept the ideas at bay and given me a story which needed to be told. I’d found my niche in a genre known as Dark Contemporary Fantasy and the rest is, as they say, literary history.
Devany Miller’s job as a victim’s advocate roots her in reality as firmly as a person can be, which makes the offer of ‘magic sugar’ from a gorgeous salesman at a psychic fair all the more fantastic. The sugar, he tells her, will allow her to visit the exclusive vendors tucked away in the shadows beyond his tent. Indulging in fancy, she takes a taste and ventures into what she figures is a tourist trap. Then the screams begin and Devany is yanked violently into a world of butchered humans, of witches who make foolish deals with demons, and of spiders that use human skins as camouflage for their assassinations.
Devany’s normal life begins to crumble into madness as she struggles to stay alive. Her marriage falls apart. And of course, there is the little matter of the demon who has laid claim to her, and the powerful creature that wants to take her apart piece by piece to taste her soul. Despite her fear, Devany has children to protect, and she can’t sit idly by while monsters in the guise of people drag innocents to their deaths.
